We are committed to rescuing, nurturing, and advocating for puppies born with cleft and special needs. Guided by the belief that every animal is worthy, we provide specialized care, education, and compassion to ensure these vulnerable lives are given the chance they deserve!
Our History
TCPR founder, Mandi, began her life in rescue as a teenager. From saving feral cats to rescuing dogs off the street, she has seen a lot. All of which ignited a passion in her that could not be ignored. When her first cleft pup, Gypsy, was relinquished with aspiration pneumonia she fought so hard to survive. The impact she made would forever change the trajectory of our rescue story. California Cleft Pup Rescue was born! Not long after, there was an expansion of the rescue to include Texas Cleft Pup Rescue, giving special needs pups in both states the chance they all deserve!
Did You Know?
Countless puppies are needlessly euthanized just for being born with a cleft palate (or other birth defect)? CCPR and TCPR provide specialized care to these vulnerable pups! From birth they require tube feeding around the clock as well as other specialized medical care. We are a dedicated group of fosters who have made it our mission to provide quality care for every puppy we bring in!
